Foto Friday is a new feature on Get Busy Livin and will run regularly, you guessed it, every Friday. This will be my opportunity to display some of my photography, as well as a short story to go with the photograph.
As I begin to write the 2nd part of the Epic Road Trip 2011 recap, part of the story follows our travels through New Orleans and Mardis Gras, so I figured this photo would add a litlte foreshadowing.
In Part 1 of the recap, I mentioned that I was in California for a few days in order to finish up some work. I took advantage of one of those evenings and made my way back to Disneyland for a few hours to snap some photos. Armed with my new (and inexpensive) tripod, I wanted to take some long exposure shots and eventually play with HDR Imaging.
The quick trip to Disneyland yielded a good amount of quality photos, ones I always wanted to capture, but really couldn’t without a tripod. This one in particular was a combination of 3 photos of the New Orleans Courtyard in New Orleans Square. For many years, this was the extent of my exposure to Mardis Gras and New Orleans. The beads, the party, the decor. The typically quiet little courtyard that acted as a photo backdrop for tourists who wandered in, but more times than not, sat completely empty, save the occasional cast member that would use the stairs to go to/from backstage.
