Today’s photo comes from Huntington Beach, CA and holds quite a few special memories and stories for both Juliet and I.  Lifeguard stand 9 is only a few stands from where Juliet and I were married in 2010.  Huntington Beach itself is quite significant to us as well, as we have spent many nights walking, jogging, running, biking up and down the boardwalk, as well as enjoying the nightlife on Main Street.

It is also the area in California that we identify with the most.  Even though we own our home about 60 miles east, we still refer to Huntington Beach as our home (sorry Sean, we are hijacking your house), since we first started dating while both renting rooms from our good friend Sean.

The memories are too numerous to count.  A block party BBQ for seemingly any major (and minor) holidays. 4th of July fireworks on the beach.  Parties that lasted til 2am and others that lasted a few bottles of wine. Renovations that started out with paint, that turned into a total room conversion. Dean, ahh, Mr. Dean.

Oh, and one infamous White Trash party.

That is what this photo of Huntington Beach signifies to us.

Ever been to Huntington Beach, CA?

Do you have a photo that in one, single shot, signifies so much to you?

Would love to hear about it in the comments.

I grew up in HB – Played football for HB High – Man. so many memeories

    • Glad you enjoyed it! I have a few friends that went to HBHS, but most of mine from the area went to Edison or Fountain Valley.

My wife and I agree, if we ever move back to California, HB is one of only 2 places we would even consider.

      Thanks for dropping by!

  • Awesome shot… I love where the sun is in the photo. I need to start taking sunset or sunrise photos. I dont think I have any…

    • Especially with all of the amazing beaches you are on, yeah, you need to get on top of that 🙂  Glad you enjoyed this photo!

California beach cities have a special place in my heart!   Did you know that Trey & I lived in Redondo Beach for 2.5 before moving to SoDak??   Can’t wait to be a visitor for the first time in September.

    • Becah –

Glad you liked it!  Trey did tell me that you guys lived out in CA for a few years, very small world!  Juliet lived in California her whole life, I lived there for the past 25 years, so NY is a new excursion for us!

What are you going back to visit in September? Anything in particular?
